When Angelo and Kathy stayed at Copper Lodge near Welshpool and Newtown in Powys they enjoyed a good meal with friends in the family and pet friendly Horseshoes Inn, Berriew. The atmosphere was warm and friendly with a roaring log fire in the hearth. There is a children's play area too. The Montgomery Canal runs along behind the pub perfect for taking a stroll with your dog after a good lunch.

Just 1/2 mile from the Kite Feeding Station at Gigrin Farm, Kathy and Angelo recommend The Lamb and Flag Inn at Rhayader which serves good homemade food prepared using local ingredients including lamb from the Elan Valley, Black Welsh beef and locally grown (mostly organic) vegetables. Eat in the bar with your dog at your feet, there is a cosy open fire for cold days or in the retaurant (sorry no dogs here).

Vrynwy, passes through sheep pastures, over styles, fords streams, lingers at a riverside picnic area, squeezes through rocky constrictions, peeps at ancient dwellings including Ann's old home and revels in spectacular scenery. Your pet dog is welcome but must be kept on a lead in order to protect farm animals.

Lucky will not be at Crufts this year but she wishes success for all those who take part and lots of fun for the spectators. When all the excitement is over remember over 70% of Quality Cottages welcome dogs so think about a well deserved holiday in Wales.

Approached via a medieval ford Copper Lodge seems to grow out of the rolling green hills that surround it. Overlooking breathtaking Rhiew Valley this converted medieval barn really is a sanctuary for rest and relaxation. (click on the name for full dertails)
Take your dogs and walk to your hearts content.
Jasper & JJ loved it.

A large proportion of Quality Cottages welcome dogs, often one (always free), sometimes two and occasionally three. So when you are planning a family holiday take the whole family including your pet. Choose from cottages by the coast, in rural locations, near mountains, in villages and towns all over Wales. Stress free holidays - no kennel fees, no anxiety about your beloved pet coping without you. Relax and have fun together. Happy holidays
